Ding-free, the blade exhibits the standard floral spray etching on both sides, with patches of slight scratching near tip. Else VG plus.

Hilt assembly tight and symmetrical. Gilt handle displays clean medium patina, w/minor knicks on reverse counterguard. Displays standard decoration and chasing. Fine leather grip w/tight brass wrap. Scabbard is of browned steel w/brass mountings gilded and chased. Exhibits slight pitting near the drag. Else VG plus. In all, a very attractive specimen of an early war M1860 staff officers’ sword.
