Includes:

[1] 93rd NY trefoil shaped regimental badge, enameled in blue and red, with chain links to crown shaped horizontal bar pin. Inscribed as follows: “Association of the 93 N.Y.S. Vol. / 2nd Brig. / 3rd Div. /1861 / Army of the Potomac / 1865.” Measures 2.5” in length, 1.5” in width.

[2] Gold plated GAR pin, measuring 1” x 1.25”, features a Civil war monitor on its face, with following inscription: “John A. Griswold / Post 338 G.A.R. / Troy / NY. “ Reverse inscription, in cursive script: “W[illiam] H K[incaid]/ Troy, NY,” with horizontal bar pin.

[3] Three piece chain link ladder badge, made by Tiffany. Ascending link markings: “Marksman”/ “2 Year”/ “Small Arms Practice”. All medals in VG to fine condition. Mounted in black, red felt lined riker box, measuring 5 x 6”.

William H. Kincaid enlisted as a private in Co. “F”, 93rd NY Vol. Infy., 10/19/1861. He was promoted to Sergt. [11/15/1861], 2nd Lieut. [10/13/1862], 1st Lieut. [6/2/1863], Capt. 5/6/1864. Transferred from company “F” to “I”, 7/3/1864. Severely wounded at Spotsylvania Court House, VA, 5/6/1864; discharged for wounds 5/16/1864.

The 93rd NY Infantry, known as the “Morgan Rifles”, was organized at Albany, NY, in October 1861. Beginning with the 1862 Peninsula campaign, this regiment participated in all the campaigns and battles of the Army of Potomac—[Antietam,  Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, The Wilderness, Spotsylvania, etc.] through to the Confederate surrender at Appomattox. During service it lost 119 killed and mortally wounded and 136 by disease for a total of 256.

Fine memento of a gallant Captain of the New York 93rd, who lost a leg at Spotsylvania, and later served [1888] as memorial chairman of GAR Post 338 in Troy, NY. Brief amount of internet research material included.
