Measures 1.25” x 1.25”. T-bar pin on reverse. Private Reppert enlisted August 12, 1862 at Pittsburgh for 3 years enlistment in Co F of the 15th PA Cavalry. He was listed as 18 years old, a student, dark complexion, dark hair and a tall 6’ for a cavalryman. He was one of the soldiers that mutinied just before Murfreesboro on Dec. 26, 1862. Reppert transferred to Co. C in March 1863. Listed as sick in hospital on June 25, 1863. Nov. & Dec. 1863 he is absent from the regiment on detached service (Sequatchie Valley, TN). He was appointed corporal in March 1865, and mustered out with the regiment on June 21, 1865. Copies of his pension records indicate that he lived until 1913 in Alexandria, VA. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
