Small circular gold pin, 1” in diameter, w/horizontal reverse bar fastener. Perforated face with blue tinted “Post” and “G.A.R” encircling the numeral “63.” Reverse inscription: “Isaac T. Wolf.” Fine condition.
Private Wolf mustered into Co. “H”, 7th PA Volunteer Infantry, 9/12/1862 and was mustered out two week later, 9/26, 1862, in Harrisburg. Located in Philadelphia, PA Post 63 was named after General David B. Birney, who served as a Third Corps divisional commander at Gettysburg. [JP]
