By Col. Phillip St. George Crook. Published by Government Printing office, Washington, DC, 1861. Front eps owner inscription, both volumes—“Captain James C. Clark/ Co. H, Col. A.J. Morrisons Regt/ W.B.H.C. Dec. 27th 1861”. 217 & 96 pp., with diagrams. & bugle calls. Brown blind-stamped glazed cloth, 4.5 x 6”, with gilt spine lettering. Both volumes exhibit light wear & rubbing at the extremities, with slight chipping of Vol. 2 at foot of spine. Else VG plus.
James C. Clark was commissioned Captain of Co. “H”, 7th N.Y. Cavalry, 9/10/1862, and was mustered out, 3/31/1862. He was then commissioned into the US Volunteers Adjutant Genl. Dept., 5/12/1862, and resigned 12/3/1862. On 2/25/1863 he was commissioned as Lt. Col. US CT 79th Infantry, and was promoted Colonel, 7/12/1863. He died of disease, 9/5/1864.
