In brown buckram, 5.25 x 3.75”, w/black lea. spine, gilt lettering. Exhibits exterior scuffing & soiling, w/light water-staining of the first 40 pages. Front hinge weak. Else good, w/tight page signatures. Of the two Charles D. Rathbones on Union army rolls, Lieutenant Rathbone of the 177th New York, is the more likely owner. Invites further research.  [jp]
