Volume meas. approx. 6.00 x 9.00 inches and runs 504 pages with the index. Inside both the front and back covers are fold-out maps, one shows the battlefield of Winchester while the other has Petersburg and Five Forks.

Hardcover bound in green cloth with the title, stacked muskets and flags embossed in black on the front with the title in gold on the spine. Covers are very clean and show only minor edgewear.

Interior is clean with several maps and illustrations with a full roster at rear and numerous black & white photographs of various members of the regiment.

The history was authored by the regimental chaplain, E. M. Haynes and published in Rutland, Vermont in 1894.

The 10th Vermont saw service in the 22nd, 8th, 3rd and 6th Corps and was engaged at Antietam, Wilderness, Spotsylvania, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, Monocacy, Winchester, Fisher’s Hill, Cedar Creek, Siege of Petersburg and Sailor’s Creek. It lost 9 officers and 343 men killed and died of wounds not to mention hundred of others wounded but survived.  [ad]
