Chronologically arranged, w/ full index.  By Thos. M. O’Brien & Oliver Diefendorf. Published by Derby & Miller, New York, 1864. 2 vols. Owner inscription, front eps, both volumes, in ink; “Isaac Dyer/ Skowhegan/ Maine / Col. 15th Me. Vols.” In black blind-stamped buckram, 9.5 by 6.5,” w/gilt spine lettering. Both volumes exhibit slight wear. Else VG plus & handsome.

Isaac Dyer was commissioned Lieut. Col. Into Field & Staff of the 15th Maine Infantry, 12/17/1861, promoted regimental colonel, 8/26/1862, then to Bvt. Brig. Genl., 3/13/1865. Discharged 9/13/1865. His unit, the 15th Maine, was dispatched early to the Dept. of the gulf, participating in the 1864 Red River  Campaign and the Battle of Sabine Pass. Transferred east, it was present with the 18th corps at Bermuda One Hundred.  During service it lost 5 men killed and 343 by disease for a total of 348.
