This is an often encountered photo in books and other publications. The CDV image shows General McClellan seated with his wife standing next to him. He is in the uniform of a Major General while she is in a dark colored dress with matching Zouave style jacket. Image is clear with good contrast but the surface is dirty. Bottom of mount has printed caption that reads “GEN. G. B. MCCLELLAN & WIFE.” Reverse is blank. McClellan’s career is well known and needs no repeating here.
