$195.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: P13172

Bust view of Farragut in uniform with a faded period ink inscription below the image that reads “D. G. FARRAGUT, VICE ADMIRAL.” The image is clear and the contrast is good but there is some surface dirt scattered throughout.

Reverse is covered in glue and paper residue. Front bottom of mount has copy write information for the Brady firm and a date of 1865.

David Glasgow Farragut is one of the most well-known naval figures of the Civil War. He captured New Orleans, ran the batteries at Vicksburg and captured Mobile Bay where he uttered his famous words “Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!”
