Image is medium sharp and clear, exhibiting slight wear and soiling. Else VG.

John Clarke Budlong enlisted as assistant surgeon and was commissioned into Field and Staff  3^rd Rhode Island Cavalry on 11/29/1863. He was promoted to surgeon on 11/16/1863 and was mustered at New Orleans, LA. 11/29/1865. He died at Providence, RI, 7/24/ 1907. His unit was posted to Louisiana and saw action during the 1864 Red River Campaign.
