This is a tintype housed in a CDV sized paper holder. The holder is cut at center to reveal the photo And the paper around the cut is impressed with a border and stars. The image shows two men, one standing and one sitting. The man standing rests one hand on the shoulder of the seated man. Both men wear dark jackets with light hats and trousers. Interestingly both men wear sashes around their waist. The man standing wears what looks to be a sack coat while the seated man wears a double-breasted coat. Both men have light tinting on their cheeks. The image is clear with good contrast. The reverse is blank. The paper frame has some light surface dirt from storage and age.
