Item Code: 365-09

Nice clean crisp image of Custer as a Brigadier General. He is seen standing beside a table on which his slouch hat with star insignia rests. He is posed with one arm behind his back while the other is by his side with his hand resting on the tabletop. The bottom edge of the mount is marked “BRADY” and “NEW YORK.”

The reverse of the image has “CUSTER” in pencil at top. Back mark is for BRADY’S NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHIC PORTRAIT GALLERIES…NEW YORK & WASHINGTON. The lower reverse also has blue 2 cent revenue stamp.

The long history and gallant exploits of General Custer are very well-known and are in no need of repeating here.

Wonderful rare image.
