Full length standing view of Hutchings wearing 9 button frock coat with officer’s sash, waist belt with rectangular plate and sword attached, holding his hat in one hand. Overall very fine condition. BM: Black, Boston.

William Vincent Hutchings was a 34 year old resident of Glouceser, MA when he enlisted on 9/2/61 as a 1st Lt.  On 10/17/16 he was commissioned into 24th Massachusetts Infantry as 1st Lt. and QM. Promoted to Captain & Asst. QM, 11/26/62. On 4/16/63 he was discharged for promotion into the US Volunteers QM Dept.  Promoted to Lt. Col. on 12/4/64, as Chief QM of the 25th Corps. Hutchings died in Auburndale, MA on 7/26/1888.  [LD]
