CDV is a waist-up sitting view of Lucien L. Perkins. He is wearing a dark colored frock coat with shoulder boards and dark colored trousers. Bottom of mount is marked with a photographer’s label which reads, “BLACK & CASE, BOSTON”.

The reverse has a photographer’s imprint which reads, “BLACK & CASE PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTISTS, 163 & 173 WASHINGTON ST. BOSTON”.

Image is clear and the contrast is good. Surface has some light dirt from age. Image has yellowed with time.

Lucien L. Perkins was a resident of Plympton, MA where he worked as a shoemaker. He enlisted on April 22, 1861 as a Captain and was commissioned into Co. “H”, 3rd MA Infantry. On July 22, 1861 he mustered out. He was promoted to Adjutant on October 10, 1862.On October 15, 1862 he was commissioned into Field & Staff 3rd MA Infantry. He was mustered out on June 26, 1863 at Camp Hooker in Lakeville, MA.  [sh]
