CDV is a three-quarter standing view of Frank W. Reynolds. He is wearing a dark colored frock coat with shoulder boards, and belt with a sword hanging at his side.

The reverse has a photographer’s imprint which reads, “WHIPPLE, 96 WASHINGTON STREET, BOSTON”.

Image is clear and the contrast is good. Surface has some light dirt from age. Image has yellowed with time.

Frank Wayland Reynolds was born in 1836 and was living in Boston where he worked as a merchant.  He enlisted on May 26, 1862 as a 2nd Lieutenant and was commissioned into Co. “B”, 4th MA Battalion Infantry. He mustered out on May 31, 1862 at Boston. On September 12, 1862 he was commissioned into Co. “K”, 44th MA Infantry, where he was promoted to Captain. He was discharged for disability on December 28, 1862. Reynolds was a member of GAR Post # 68 (Benjamin Stone, Jr.) in Dorchester, MA. He died on November 10, 1905 in Boston and is buried in Forest Hills Cemetery and Crematory in Jamaica Plain, MA.
