This image of Jackson was taken from life but then areas of the image were outlined in pencil for clarity. The print is somewhat light in contrast. General Jackson is seen seated in a chair with his legs crossed. Behind him is a partial camp scene. Jackson wears knee high boots and the uniform coat of a Confederate Lieutenant General. Stamped in bold black letters on the mount below the image is “STONEWALL JACKSON.” Photographers imprint on back reads “THE MONUMENTAL PHOTOGRAPH COMPANY… BALTIMORE, MD.”
