Wooden chest open to reveal eight medical instruments, which fit nicely in brass slots. Instruments are maker marked, “OTTO & REYNERS”, a known contract maker of Civil War instruments and kits for the Union army. They were based in New York.

All eight instruments are in very good condition and show light use with some surface mottling. Instruments feature different lengths of blades, a hook, tweezers, scissors and a probe. Four have bone handles which have no cracks. A “chewed up” looking round ball is lying in the case with the instruments.

Wooden case measures 3” x 7” x 1 ¼”. Has a few scattered dings and light surface scratches are present. Brass hooks function to keep case closed.    [SM]
