This blue canvas belt meas. approx. 35.00 inches long and approx. 3.00 inches wide. A Model 1887 heavy stamped brass “NY” retaining buckle. The body of the belt has 45 single loops for .30 ammunition. Several of the loops show light to moderate wear.
The interior surface of the belt has a large number “4” done in white paint and a smaller number “38” stenciled in white paint also. Both of the brass ends are stamped with a similar marking that reads “PAT. MILLS & ORNDORFF AUG. 26 : 67, JULY 31 : 77, DEC. 28 : 80, MAR. 19 : 89, OCT. 31 : 93, SEPT. 11 : 94”
Several loops have some fraying and there is light to moderate surface dirt throughout.
