Very nice display in a modern fame that meas. approx. 15.25 x 30.25 x 1.50 inches.

At top is an engraved brass plate that reads “1840’S AMERICAN MILITARY UNIFORM PARAPHERNALIA FROM HEAD TO TOE.”

Beneath this is a nice black and white woodcut of a soldier in 1840’s uniform leaning against a cannon.

Below the woodcut is an original pair of 1840 stamped brass shako rosettes with a spread-winged eagle at center with the proper brass wire mounts. A small brass engraved label reads “EAGLE SIDE POST PLATES USED TO ATTACH THE CHINSTRAPS TO A STOVEPIPE STYLE MILITARY CAP.”

Next are a pair of silver multi-point stars or “sunbursts” made of silver bullion thread and wire with sequins. These decorations were used on militia coats from 1820’s through the 1850’s. There is some light wear to the pieces and some scattered missing sequins but all in all they are in matching condition. They also have their own engraved brass plaque that reads “UNIFORM STARS USED TO DECORATE AMERICAN MILITIA UNIFORMS.”

Lastly there are a pair of wood handled boot pulls. These were used to help pull on high-topped boots. These all have their own engraved plaque that reads simply “BOOT PULLS.”

Nice little collection.
