Sling is made of woven cloth that is looped and then sewn to a leather frog. The width of the cloth is approx. 2 inches. Surface of the cloth is dirty and stained from age and use. Leather frog shows matching wear Inside of the sling has “SURGEON” written in ink. Letters are approx. .50 inch high. This item comes from a Maine estate. These types of accouterments were used by the GAR.
