This stamped brass plate is from the collection of author Francis Lord who wrote the multi-volume “COLLECTORS ENCYLOPEDIA OF THE CIVIL WAR.” The plate dates from the 1850’s. It has a spread-winged eagle at center surrounded by a border of 13 stars with a laurel wreath across the bottom. The face has a light patina. Reverse has one of the two scrap brass hooks and the tongue. Item is in nice condition and comes with certificate of authenticity from the dealer who previously sold it.

This sword was probably sold by Schuyler, Hartley & Graham of New York. The pattern is pictured in their 1864 catalogue in figures 13 and 16. Rather than have a standard blade, the lightly curved 32 inch blade has "B.K." (Battery K) on the left… (870-447). Learn More »
