This non-dug plate has a nice smooth dark patina throughout except for some high areas which still show hints of the original brass surface. The detail on the eagle is very good. Some small dings are present on edge of plate.
The reverse has 100% of the lead fill. One hooks is complete and slightly rusted, but the other hook has broken off. Maker’s mark is present and reads, “BOYD & SONS BOSTON”. Inspector’s stamp reads, “BATTY”. [SH]
