Rectangular plate with brass keeper attached to one end. Raised decoration at center is a spread-winged eagle with a patriotic shield on his chest inside of an applied silver wreath that extends above the eagles wings. Patina is nice and even.

Reverse has a small tongue. Plate is stamped with the maker’s mark, “US, ALLEGHENY ARSENAL”; both plate and keeper stamped “1282”.  [sm]
