Cast brass, two-piece “tongue and wreath” style belt plate. Central eagle has one wind held higher than the other and no tail feathers. Popular with militia officers in 1840s and 1850s. Bright finish and in excellent condition. Similar to specimen #296 in “American Military Plates” by O’Donnell and Campbell.  [jet]
