The face of this plate is in good uncleaned condition. It has a strong wide “US” stamping. Surface is covered with light surface dirt from age and storage as well as some green oxidation in spots. There is also some minor edge wear.

Reverse has “puppy paw” studs with tongue and 99% of the lead fill being present. Studs are mounted opposite the letter “S” showing it is of the pattern meant for use on the dragoon saber belt. Center of the lead fill is stamped “W. H. SMITH BROOKLYN.” Marking has been highlighted with chalk.  [ad]
