Smooth side canteen with original brown wool cover, sling keepers, complete linen sling, ring cork stopper w/six links of chain. Wool cover is tight and intact, w/half dozen small worn spots (down the threads). Cover is adorned with the following (period) ink lettering, faded but legible: “J.G.A./ (Co. ?) E/ 7th REGT”. Two small shallow dents can be felt beneath the cover. Else VG and solid. Highly attractive. Excellent display canteen. [jp]
