Bullseye canteen with pewter spout manufactured at the Philadelphia Depot. The body is in very good condition and is free of dents. All three sling keepers are present.

The exterior is covered with a sky-blue wool that shows some small spots of wear. One side is stenciled with a Company letter “F” in white paint or ink over a number with a second digit that is smudged. It is either a “71” or a “74.” The letter is about 1.50 inch tall while the numbers are 1.25 inches.

Cotton sling is in very nice condition with only light surface dirt and light wear. There are several small ink stains scattered over the slings surface.

Canteen has a New York Depot style stopper with chain. There is no hole in the sling keeper so the chain is fastened around the sling.  [ad]
