Standard Government Issue Model 1858 smooth side canteen with pewter spout and three flat sling keepers. One of the keepers still has a hole for anchoring the stopper chain. The cork has the pull ring with a chain that is anchored to the spout. The body of the canteen is very good with no dents. The cover is sky blue and of a heavier material then that used on Civil War canteens. It has some light moth tracking but no holes. The sling is complete and tied in a knot. The material is of a herringbone weave pattern.
