Two-piece badge is either gold plated, or gold rolled. Badge has top hangar with the soldier’s name, “F. KEPPY”.  Suspended from this is the medal with lettering that reads, “CO. E. 5th REGT. U.S.V.V. 1ST ARMY COR.”.  Center of badge has a red enamel insert.

Badge is ID’D to Frederick Keppy, Hancock’s 1st Veteran Volunteer Corps. Sgt. Co. “E”, 5th Regiment U.S. V.V. Keppy [Keppey] was 18 years old when he enlisted at Copake, NY as a Private. On 9/30/61 he mustered into Co. H, 91st NY. Discharged on 9/20/64. We have Keppy's post-war 91st PA Corps badge available also as of the initial date of thiis listing (M25307).

Item is in excellent condition. Original pin is present on reverse of hangar. Gold is very bright. No markings on reverse. Measures 2 ¼” in total length x 1 ½” wide.    [sm, ld]
