A very eye-catching South Carolina Palmetto tree hat insignia. This has just about all of its original silver on the embroidered dead-and-bright bullion and sequins that make up the tree. Just two very narrow diagonal strands of the “dead” bullion are missing near the base of the tree trunk and are barely noticeable given the overall brightness of the insignia. About two inches tall, the reverse shows the original thread work on an open-weave brown base that has a few traces of the original black paper backing. As mint an example as you are likely to find.
