Stamped brass spread-winged eagle with a patriotic shield on his chest. Between the eagle and the shield are a pair of crossed cavalry sabers.

Reverse of the plate has all three attachment loops.

The plate was meant for wear on the front of the 1880’s spiked helmet.  [ad]
