This is a pair of major of infantry shoulder straps measuring approximately 4 ½” x 1 ¾”. These are single bordered, infantry straps. The bullion embroidered borders are in good condition with good, age appropriate tarnishing. The blue fields still retain good color. The embroidered oak leaves in the center of each remain in excellent condition.

These straps each have brown, cotton shoe-string ties attached to the undersides as a way for the officer to put them on their uniforms. The shoe-strings would be run through holes in the shoulder and tied. The strings have thin brass tips. Most all of these shoe laces have separated from the straps and have been glued resewn.

A very attractive pair of this unusual style of shoulder board.   [jet]
