Bridle leather harness with elongated heart shaped padded base that holds a brass escutcheon and movable brass cup. The strap of the leather harness meas. approx. 2.00 inches wide and is approx. 25.00 inches long on each side. The length is adjusted by a brass buckle on the lower right side of the piece. The articulating brass cup screws into a socket that is attached to the escutcheon on the padded base. This brass cup accepts the finial of a regimental flagstaff. The lower side of the strap opposite the adjustment buckle is lightly marked J. H. WILSON, PHILA.
The leather does exhibit some light wear throughout the piece but overall it is solid. This is not an item often encountered.
