This is the officer’s dress sword knot, and is a woven bullion ribbon folded over upon itself to create a 14” long strap that terminates in a tasseled bullion knot. The piece was secured to a sword hilt and then looped around the officer’s wrist like a lanyard.
The bullion ribbon strap is 1/2” wide and strong. A single sliding loop is on the strap. The knot on the bottom is finished with twelve spun gold tassels which surround six dark tassels.
All gold bullion wears a pleasing patina. This sword knot remains in good condition. [jet]
