This sling is able to fit the Springfield rifle musket or any of its contract variations. Leather is clean, smooth and only slightly stiff. No flaking and very, very little surface crazing. The sliding keeper is present. The end with the stationary keeper is curled from having been on a musket for years. Brass adjuster hook is also present. Sling has a nice maker’s mark just above the stationary keeper that reads “E. GAYLORD, CHICOPEE, Mass.” in three lines. The first two lines are strong but the “MASS.” stamping is weak. Excellent overall condition.
