MODEL 1851 DRAGOON BELT

$375.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 757-16

Buff leather belt in good condition. The interior of the belt shows that it was originally white but was dyed dark on the outside. The belt has a sewn and riveted leather tab near the keeper end that has two brass “D” rings and a brass saber hook. The back of the belt has two leather loops with a brass square. These rings and loops are for holding the detachable sword drops and shoulder cross belt, none of which are present. The belt has a Model 1851 NCO plate with the applied silver wreath. The keeper has a benchmark of 820 but no mark is visible on the plate. You can see a little difference between the patina on the plate and on the keeper but it is a subtle difference and the two pieces fit together nicely. The face of the plate has some wear to the raised areas and the eagles shield is almost rubbed smooth. The leather is supple and fairly clean.
