This accoutrement, made of buff leather, is a Model 1856 Federal infantryman’s waist belt in excellent unissued condition. The belt measures 1¾” wide and is 37” long and comes equipped with its original brass keeper sewn in. Keeper is benchmarked with “869.” Belt is missing its brass belt adjuster but does retain its single brass hook. Also missing is the belt’s rectangular brass belt plate. Exterior of the buff leather surface is excellent. Leather is a stiff and has just slight scuffing on the edges. Belt is unmarked. A minty specimen of a Federal soldier’s leather waist belt with keeper.
