White buff leather Pattern 1832 belt with black bridle leather scabbard for the Model 1832 Artillery short sword. Leather is in very nice condition but has moderate to heavy surface dirt and scattered areas of dark discoloration.

The frog for the M1832 Artillery short sword is present and in good condition and still holds a black leather scabbard. The scabbard body is in very good condition and shows only light surface crazing. Both the brass throat and scabbard tip are present and in matching nice condition. Each looks to have been lightly cleaned. The frog that holds the scabbard is suspended from two brass “O” rings on the left side of the belt.

The right side of the belt has a brass buckle used for adjusting size. This area also has two leather keepers.

The main buckle is the Pattern 1832 belt plate made up of two round brass discs one decorated with an eagle and the other with a “US” and crossed cannons. The two sections of the plate are joined by an “S” hook. All three pieces of the plate have a nice matching dark patina which matches the other brass fittings on the belt.
