Leather belt is in overall good condition, with some light crazing. Edges have some slight cracks. Belt has a heavy cotton interior with the leather wrapped around, with a hand-sewn horizontal seam on the reverse. Stitching is tight except for about 2” at the end of belt where it has come loose.
Brass buckle and keeper have a light patina. Buckle is stamped with, “WASHINGTON RIFLES”. There is no maker’s mark.
Entire belt measures 34 ¾” long x 1 ½” wide.
Washington Rifles were a District of Columbia Army National Guard militia unit.
