CIVIL WAR NAVY OFFICER'S BELT

$895.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 853-147

A Pattern 1852 Navy officer's belt rig. The belt and traces (sword hangers) are made of folded and stitched leather. Complete with sliding belt loop. Stitching on the leather portions is mostly solid and unbroken. The tongue and wreath belt plate is an excellent example of the early, U.S. Navy, pre-Civil War plate. All other brass components are present and in good shape: ring, rivets, snap-hooks, "J" hook, and adjuster buckle. The belt is in overall good condition; soft and pliable. There are some cracks and wrinkles. The short trace wuth "J" hook has separated from the belt. One side of the leather "pad" has also become unstitched. This rig is complete with all leather and brass components and after reattaching the short trace, will make a very displayable Navy belt.  [JET]
