19TH CENTURY POLICE BELT W/ PLATE & CUDGEL

$195.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 881-12

This black leather belt is very reminiscent of a Civil War era officer’s sword belt. It is made of black bridle leather, meas. approx. 1.75 inches wide and has a tooled line along each exterior edge. The exterior face is decorated with tooled geometric ovals separated by diamond shapes. The interior surface is plain with a sewn seam running near the top.

Attached to the belt is a black leather frog and cup that holds a very nicely made wooden cudgel or “nightstick” that meas. approx. 17.00 inches long. The stick appears to have been made out of one piece of wood. It has an orbed pommel with an elegantly turned handle and a smooth body that thickens as it nears the bottom.

Attached to the belt is a one piece, false tongue and wreath buckle with “POLICE” at center. Buckle is made of white metal with a wide tongue on reverse that mates to a thin metal keeper sewn to the belt. Right side of belt has a white metal size adjustment keeper.  [ad]
