Leather is smooth and supple with moderate surface cracking and loss of finish. Small section of leather “uniform protector” (which goes behind buckle when worn) is stamped with inspector’s initials and “Rock Island Arsenal”. Pattern 1851 buckle features high relief details on front, wide tongue on back, and matching bench numbers on buckle and keeper. Two leather sword hangers are complete and in very good condition.
