Seamed and double stitched black bridal leather belt measures 42. 5 x 1.75”, with attached shield-shaped sword pad (5 x 5.5”). Stitching tight, teather remains supple and good, with light cracking throughout and patches of flaking. The unnumbered eagle plate face exhibits a medium coppery patina, and is near pristine; its keeper is numbered “34”, indicating either an initial mismatch of plate and keeper or, more likely, a lost original plate replaced by an unnumbered one. Either way, an attractive collectible and suitable display piece.  [jp]
