Black bridle leather, 34” length, 1.5” width - -w/ two strap hangers, 11 & 19” length, .75” width, and 10 punched holes. M1851 Officers belt plate exhibits medium coppery patina w/one slight trace of verdigris. Reverse keeper prong is missing. All other strap accoutrements—keeper, buckles, hooks and snaps are present and in good condition. Leather remains supple, while exhibits wear and cracking, with tears in one strap hanger. Stitching still solid, with a loose spot or two. Else VG. Good belt & plate display piece. [JP]
