WHITE BUFF LEATHER DRAGOON SWORD BELT WITH FIELD REPAIRED “US” BUCKLE

$650.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 410-358

Buff leather dyed brown on the outside to conform to the 1851 Regulations while the inside was left white. Leather is in very nice condition but just a bit stiff.

The frog for the M1832 Artillery Short Sword is present and in fair condition. The frog has curled and its surface has heavy crazing with much surface finish loss. Nothing is torn and if a sword and scabbard were attached for a time it might relax the frog.

The plate is the Model 1851 rectangular NCO with a spread-winged eagle and applied silver wreath. The casting shows good detail on the face and the plate has an overall dark patina. Reverse has the tongue and a bench mark of “267.” Keeper is also present and has a matching numbered mark.  [ad]
