Belt is in overall nice condition with both drops, shoulder support strap, plate and one replaced sliding keeper.

Leather is in pliable condition. Belt meas. approx. 2.75 inches wide and exhibits light crazing on the finished surface. Attached to the plate is the rectangular Model 1851 NCO plate with spreadwinged eagle and applied silver wreath. Plate has a bench mark of “562” while the keeper is unmarked. Plate and keeper are a good fit.

Attached to the belt are one long and one short sword drop. Both are complete with brass studs and brass gate hooks. Also present is a complete shoulder support strap. The left side of the belt has a brass hook for holding an edged weapon and to keep the hook from rubbing against the body this area has a heart shaped pad. Attached to the right side is a cap box with a good maker’s mark of “E. GAYLORD, CHICOPEE, MASS.” Box has no fleece or pick.

This is a good quality belt that can be used to display alone or on a uniform. [AD]
