Buff leather dyed brown on the outside to conform to the 1851 Regulations while the inside was left white. Leather is in very nice condition but a little stiff. The frog for the M1832 Artillery Short Sword is present and in good condition. The frog is suspended from two brass “O” rings on the side of the belt. The brass size adjuster buckle is present along with the keeper. The main buckle is the Pattern 1834 NCO belt plate made up of two round brass discs one decorated with an eagle and the other with a “US” and joined by an “S” hook. The backside of the frog has some inked names scratched out and there also appears to be some writing on the backside of the leather tab behind the belt plate.
