The leather belt is in good condition and exhibits signs of use. There is some light surface crackling as well as dust and dirt from age. The belt was made by turning each edge inward creating an inside center seam and then sewing it in place on either side. Each edge has a tooled line for decoration. Both sword drops are broken. One is totally missing while the other is present. The sword hook and shield are present.
The rectangular plate is the correct officer pattern with a very detailed and pronounced eagle and wreath. The plate has a light patina as does the brass keeper. The reverse of the plate has a moderate sized tongue.
