The outer flap of this box shows wear consistent with use. It has light crazing on the top and a corner that is wrinkled from the act of opening and closing the box. The latch-tab is slightly worn but solid. The inner flap has both ears and light surface wear. At the center edge of the flap is the maker’s mark that reads “W. H. WILKINSON, SPR’GF’LD, MASS.” The interior has a wood block cut with 20 holes. The front of the box has the implement pocket and flap. The bottom of the box has both roller buckles and the brass finial. Reverse has both belt loops and a sling loop. Overall the box shows signs of light use.
